The Goldthorpe Family

This is the website of the family of Arthur Goldthorpe OBE. It is where we all communicate with each other, spread out as we are on different sides of the world. One common theme of the family is photography, and so you can browse our individual photo galleries and see pictures as diverse as Tennis at Wimbledon, trumpetfish in the Red Sea and deer in the mountains of Oregon.

Sadly, Athur Goldthorpe OBE passed away on April 3rd 2008. We were all deeply saddened by this and feel his loss greatly. We would like to that the many people who sent their kind messages of sympathy.

Nina continues to live in the family home in Bramley.

Brian and Marilyn moved to Gran Canaria in 2002 where they run a diving business. Helen comes over from Leeds to visit as often as she can.

Chris and Merry live in Portland Oregon. They moved to Portland over 15 years ago and love to go walking in the Rocky Mountains.

David lives in the family home in Leeds, where he has taken up Ti-Chi

Helen also lives in Leeds, where she is a Solicitor. She took up running in 2006 and in that year completed her first marathon in Berlin with a time of 4 hours 51 minutes and 26 seconds! She has since completed marathons in Edinburgh, Amsterdam, New York, and London, and has achieved a "Good for age" Personal Best of 3 hours and 43 minutes which gives her an automatic entry to the London Marathon!

Annette and Chris met in Gran Canaria while Annette was working for the family business in the diving centre, and for 3 years lived about 20 minutes from Brian and Marilyn. Annette qualified as a PADI dive instructor but they have both now moved back to the UK. They were married in February 2008 and set up home in Lytham St Annes, where Annette is now working for the NSPCC and Chris is involved in care work.
